Michael Heffernan

Michael Heffernan is an Executive VP of Alliant Construction Services Group and is directly responsible for the construction and real estate platform for Alliant Insurance Services’ Northern California property, casualty broking, and client fulfillment operations. Mike 25+ yrs of experience in the design, marketing, implementation, and management areas of some of the largest real estate development projects throughout the country. Mike and his team have developed project-specific and portfolio risk transfer programs for many high-profile real estate developers, representing both debt and equity investors.

Prior to joining Alliant, Mike spent 17 yrs at Aon Risk Services where he was an Executive Vice President in the Construction Services Group, overseeing construction and real estate risk advisory for the Western United States. Mike has earned a Catalyst Executive MBA designation from Northwestern (Kellogg School of Business) and a BS degree in Political Science from Arizona State University.

Mike was invited to serve on the State of California task force for Public and Private Partnerships by Dale Bonner, Secretary of Housing, Real Estate, and Transportation and has served as a member of the Center for Collaborative Research at Stanford University. His specific experience includes project risk advisory and total cost of risk techniques for general building contractors, civil engineering firms, specialty trade contractors, and real estate developers throughout the country.
