Dennis Gillan
Dennis Gillan was an early supporter of the Mental Health and Suicide Prevention initiative launched by CFMA in 2015. Dennis served to the National Action Alliance for Suicide Prevention Workplace Task Force and was assigned to the Construction Subcommittee. Dennis was a speaker at the South Carolina Asphalt Pavement Association and based on the rave reviews, he was a featured presenter at the 3rd-ever Suicide Prevention Summit hosted by the Charlotte CFMA Chapter in 2016. Dennis has written for construction publications and presented to other construction audiences. Dennis is a dynamic speaker who focuses on connecting with audiences to reach the one person that needs to feel hope today. His personal story is touching and demonstrates the power of finding hope and purpose following his grief journey. Dennis is the executive director of the Half A Sorrow Foundation where his purpose is to promote real conversations to reduce the stigma surrounding mental health.
