OSHA Issues Stand-Down For Preventing Construction Worker Suicides

To highlight the serious problem facing the construction industry, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) has issued a safety stand-down for preventing construction worker suicides.

This support and awareness from OSHA is much needed and helps to continue to shine a light on the importance of mental health and suicide prevention in the construction industry.

Stuart Binstock, CFMA’s President & CEO, had this to say after hearing the news, “I would say this is the most significant event I’ve seen in the six years we’ve been involved with suicide prevention. The fact that OSHA would issue a stand-down for the entire industry on this topic supports everything we’ve been trying to accomplish.”
