CFMA had an opportunity to sit down with Owen Wyss, CFO of Complete General Construction Company in Columbus, OH. Owen is also one of CFMA’s 40 Under 40 Honorees.

Q: Do you have any children?
A: I have one four-year-old daughter named Sydney.
 

Q: What’s your favorite app?
A: My favorite app, unfortunately, is Facebook. I can see how people are and what they’re up to and also thrift shop all in the same place at the same time.

 
Q: What is your favorite movie?
A: My favorite movie is “Jurassic Park.” I’m sure there are a lot of others I’m not thinking of, but this one jumps first to mind of something I will stop flipping through TV channels to watch.
 

Q: Where did you grow up at?
A: I grew up in Bucyrus, Ohio.
 

Q: Are you married?
A: I am married to my wife, Natalie, who is an orthopedic physician’s assistant specializing in foot and ankle care.
 

Q: What do you do to unwind from work?
A: I unwind after work with cars and bourbon,
 

Q: What was your first job?
A: My first job was as a lot and service assistant for a car dealership.
 

Q: When did you become a CFMA member?
A: I became a CFMA member in 2015.
 

Q: What energizes you at work?
A: Strategic planning and working with people at all levels of business energizes me at work.
 

Q: What’s your favorite holiday to celebrate?
A: My favorite holidays to celebrate are Opening Day, the first Thursday and Friday of March Madness, and Michigan versus Ohio State game day. I know, not actually holidays, but some of the biggest sporting event days on the calendar are better than holidays for me!
