Meet Geri Pacheco, CPA, CCIFP

CFMA recently had an opportunity to sit down with Geri Pacheo, CPA, CCIFP who is the CFO of Arch-Con Corporation in Houston, TX and answer these questions so we could get to know her better. Check it out!

Q: Do you have children?

A: I have three grown children, two boys and a girl.

 

Q: What’s your favorite app?

A: My favorite app is Instacart!

 
Q: What’s your favorite holiday to celebrate?

A: My favorite holiday is Christmas.

 

Q: How did you get into accounting?

A: I got into accounting by accident! I was an HR manager at a small construction company and I wanted to go back to school to finish my degree. They asked if I'd consider accounting as they didn't have a good controller. I switched to accounting and never looked back!

 

Q: What energizes you at work?

A: Collaborating with others on how to solve problems/improve processes to make things more efficient energizes me at work.

 

Q: What have you learned about being a leader?

A: I have learned that being a leader means to always listen and be as open-minded as possible.

 

Q: What is one thing you have to have with you in meetings?

A: One thing I have to have with me in meetings is a cup of tea with milk and sugar.

 

Q: Are you married?

A: I am married and I just celebrated my 20th wedding anniversary in Hawaii.

 

Q: What is something you can never over-invest in?

A: You can never over-invest in learning too much

 

Q: What was your first job?

A: My first job was a cashier at a neighborhood grocery store. That's where I learned how to use a ten-key!
