Cyber Insurance in a Hardening Market

Over the last 36 months, cyber insurance has suffered through an unprecedented hard market, driven by a massive increase in both severity and frequency of Ransomware activity. Without discrimination, bad actors have seemingly perfected ways to extort businesses of all shapes and sizes into paying for the ability to re-access their own information. This activity has sent ripples through the market, forcing an emphasis on security and IT controls that were absent from cyber underwriting for years. The effect this has had on insurance buyers has been unlike anything we’ve seen before.

  • 3 learning objectives
    • Understand changing market in cyber insurance.
    • Help identify bad actors and risks in the marketplace.
    • Identify security protocols and IT controls to help mitigate risk from fraudulent attacks.
