The Medium-Firm Roundtable held on May 17 at CFMA’s 2022 Annual Conference & Exhibition was attended by about 150 construction financial professionals.
The session kicked off with an interactive presentation on “Leases” by Greg Brown, CPA, CCIFP, Partner at Crowe. Tables discussed a variety of leasing scenarios and then the room discussed what the correct way to handle the scenario was and why. Some of the topics presented and discussed included:
- Software leases
- Determining lease terms
- How to handle lease incentives
- What makes up the right-of-use (ROU) asset
The next presentation was “Critical Construction Issues in the Current Environment” presented by Kevin Booth, CCIFP, CEO of WestCor Companies. This presentation focused on issues construction companies are currently facing such as:
- Recruiting and retaining labor
- Stabilizing the supply chain
- Increasing costs of inputs
- Meeting construction demand
