Importance of Investing in Technology

The pandemic has certainly brought to light the importance of investing in technology as was evident at CFMA’s 2022 Annual Conference & Exhibition that was held in Atlanta on May 14-18.

Annual Conference Sessions

The Conference agenda was replete with a myriad of issues related to technology. Thanks to the Conference Programming Committee, led by Jen Haub, CCIFP, from Skender and Scott Damiecki, CCIFP, from CohnReznick LLP, who put together an outstanding array of content.

Given our diverse membership, we are very conscious of including course levels that are a mix of basic, intermediate, and advanced.

A sample of our technology topics included:

  • Power BI to Drive Project Success
  • Project Risk Assessment & Monitoring Tools & Templates
  • The CFM’s Role in Cybersecurity
  • It’s App-tastic: 60 Apps in 60 Minutes
  • Virtual/Hybrid Construction Workplace Best Practices
  • Tech Is Cheap: How & Why It Benefits Your Bottom Line
  • I Have All of This Data, Now What?
  • Leverage or Replace Your ERP System
  • Collecting & Disseminating Info Via Mobile Applications

Post-Conference Offerings

If you attended the conference, audio from nearly all Conference sessions has been recorded and will be available to all in-person full-conference registrants. The audio and fully-synchronized PowerPoint presentations are estimated to be available by July 18, 2022. Please note that these recordings are not available for CPE credit.

Additionally, CFMA is also offering CPE credit for 14 of this year’s recorded sessions. These sessions are estimated to be available for CPE on August 15, 2022. Emails will be sent to attendees with directions on how to access these sessions.

If you did not attend the conference, both the recordings and/or the 14 recorded sessions with CPE credit can be purchased individually or as a part of the full conference package.

Exhibition

The sold-out exhibition also heavily focused on technology. Of the 88 exhibitors, over 75% provided some kind of technology solution. And, during the Technology Forums, seven technology companies with enterprise resource planning programs hosted over 400 members who learned about the latest and greatest updates from these companies.

In short, if you have an interest in technology, then you are missing out if you do not attend CFMA’s Annual Conference. That leads me to encourage you to put July 15-19, 2023 in your calendar, which is when our 2023 Annual Conference & Exhibition will take place in Denver, CO.
