Building a Bigger & Better Future

Similar to many of you, my first experience with CFMA occurred when a passionate member invited me to a chapter meeting. Since I was new to the construction industry, my surety agent knew that CFMA’s education would help me quickly learn percentage-of-completion accounting. He was my first and most impactful CFMA connection — and I didn’t know at the time that many lasting connections would follow.

I am deeply honored and humbled to serve as CFMA’s 2024-25 Chair. The opportunity to build on the successes of the leaders before me is a great responsibility. Each chair, leader, and member has helped mold CFMA into what it is today.

Your Path to Bigger & Better

As you’ll hear more throughout the year, Your Path to Bigger and Better celebrates the diverse journey we all take through CFMA’s extensive offerings.

My own journey wasn’t a straight line; however, each step made meaningful connections that propelled my professional growth and my company’s success along the way, such as:

  • Experiencing great chapter and regional events
  • Attending CFMA’s Annual Conference & Exhibition
  • Developing and presenting education courses
  • Learning from CFMA Building Profits and the Connection Café
  • Leading chapter, regional, and national committees
  • Participating on CFMA’s Executive Committee as a member and Officer

Bigger

As we strive to create and promote an inclusive community where all voices are heard, Bigger refers to more than just the numbers. We’re reaching a bigger audience with our various education delivery formats that are more comprehensive and cover a bigger range of topics.

The Certified Construction Industry Financial Professional (CCIFP) designation offers exciting opportunities to enhance the profile of our profession throughout the construction industry among owners, sureties, insurance companies, etc., while also providing value within our companies.

Better

We also strive to create a Better CFMA for current and future members, ensuring that CFMA is able to deliver a relevant and positive experience to the next generation of construction financial professionals (CFPs). We believe that evolving CFMA’s technology and education delivery is key.

Along your own journey, you can learn so much from studying to earn your CCIFP; achieving the designation affirms your dedication and specialization in the industry.
