In an industry faced with unparalleled labor shortages and a currently abundant pipeline of project opportunities, it is certainly the sentiment of many construction CEOs that “people are our most valuable resource.” Since the human resources (HR) department is likely tasked with keeping up with the demand for that most valuable resource, it seems that the HR director would be the favorite child of any CEO. However, whether actual or imagined, many HR directors feel unappreciated and under-utilized by company leadership. Here are some ways that HR can elevate its standing and become a valued part of the leadership team.
