Fraud can happen at any construction company, do you know what to look for?

Actual cases will be discussed by a construction industry CPA and Certified Fraud Examiner.

Featured Speakers

Billy Robinson is a Partner in the Kingsport office of Brown Edwards and the Firm Coordinator of Construction Services. He has extensive experience with construction companies, including general contractors, heavy highway, and specialty trade. Billy has provided assurance and consulting services to construction companies ranging in size from $1M to $500M in annual revenue.

Billy graduated from the University of Virginia’s College at Wise with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and a Minor in Criminal Justice. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Virginia Society of Certified Public Accountants, Construction Financial Management Association, Associated General Contractors of Virginia and Tennessee, and the Virginia Transportation Construction Alliance.

Billy has twice been named a “Super CPA” by Virginia Business magazine and is a Certified Public Accountant in Virginia and Tennessee. He has been a CCIFP since 2014.

Billy is actively committed to serving the community and industry through current or past memberships on various community committees or boards.

 

Stacy Shiflet graduated from Bridgewater College with a degree in Business Administration. He is licensed as a Certified Public Accountant and holds credentials as a Certified Fraud Examiner. Stacy joined the Blauch Brothers team in 2011, after 16 years with a large regional firm where he specialized in accounting for construction companies and not-for-profit entities.

Stacy is an active member of the Construction Financial Management Association, American Subcontractor Association, and the Association for General Contractors. In addition, he is a member of the Virginia Society for Public Accountants, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners.
