Over the past ten years, the level of cyber-related attacks has steadily increased each year with no industry being immune – including construction. However, over the past several years in this pandemic environment, the volume and severity of attacks has only gotten worse. With incidents like the Colonial Pipeline being front and center in the news, its clear more and more segments of the economy are susceptible to attack. During this presentation, Brian Hunt with USI and Mike Manzo and Travis Wong with Resilience Insurance will help illustrate the current state of cyber risk and help your firms improve your resiliency to this growing threat.

Featured Speakers

Brian Hunt has spent more than 20 years helping his clients identify and understand how risk could impact their businesses. He joined USI in 2021 as a Vice President for Construction in the Dallas office. In this role, he is the main point of contact to help USI prospects and clients think strategically about their construction-related exposure to risk.

Before joining USI, Brian was a Chief Administration Officer and Account Executive in Aon’s Construction Services Group. Before Aon, Brian was a Senior Manager in Austin Industries’ Internal Audit department where he evaluated enterprise risk across the organization’s activities. Before that, he spent 13 years at FM Global and was a founding member of FM’s Business Risk Consulting group. 

Brian has also worked as an economic crimes investigator for Electronic Data Systems (EDS) in Plano, Texas, and as a forensic accountant with the accounting firm of Buchanan Clarke Schlader (BCS), where he conducted financial analysis of business interruption and property damage claims on behalf of large insurance carriers.

He holds a Bachelor’s from Southwestern University, a Graduate Certificate in Advanced International Affairs from the Bush School at Texas A&M University, and his Master’s in Finance from the University of Michigan - Dearborn. Brian is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU), and a Construction Risk and Insurance Specialist (CRIS).

Brian received the Power Broker in Construction award in 2020 & 2021 and was named a finalist for the same recognition in 2022.

 

 

Travis Wong is the VP of Risk Engineering and Security Services at Resilience. He is responsible for guiding risk engineering and security consulting services strategy across the enterprise. Prior to joining Resilience in 2021, Travis served in cyber and general risk consultant capacities at CNA Insurance, Travelers, and Liberty Mutual. Travis holds a BS in Bioengineering from the University of California, San Diego.

 

 

Mike Manzo is a Vice President at Resilience and serves the Texas region as an underwriter. Prior to joining Resilience in 2021, he spent 10 years at Aon as a cyber/E&O broker and lead their valuation group and business interruption committee. He has experience across nearly all industries and has specialized in Manufacturing, Oil & Gas and Power industries. Mike holds a BS in Finance from University of Tennessee and is also a Certified Fraud Examiner.
